Forming a Constellation

My hands tightly grip the stone
that had fallen to the bottom of the cave.
A rock - so simple a thing.
But etched into its surface,
a star.
Beckoning me to follow its light,
I rise out from the cavern,
greeted by moonlight overhead.
I hold out my hand,
the star guiding me to the edge of the earth.
I trust it.
I fall into the bleak horizon.
The sky wraps her body around me
one last time.

Shadow Light

I fell into the sunlight
of the morning star,
and with each kiss
from her hot lips,
I was born anew
into worlds of hope and glory.
I tasted the sand
of the new moon,
and I felt the chill
from the rocks of Heaven.
As dew formed on my pale arms,
I was buried in the darkness
of my dreams.
I cried tears of falling angels,
whose screams reminded me of love
and hate.
I lifted my arms up
and became a whole
being of horror and pain,
of love and beauty,
of weakness and power,
of sadness and hope.
A whole being.

Mist of death
fogging up
the air around me.
Eyes go cloudy.
Vacant stare.
As death's cold wraps around me.
Falling down
to the earth.
The grave catches me.
Mice crawl
from the ground
and dig their fangs into me.
Face of death
darkening
the sky around me.
Lips go blue.
World goes dark.
The reaper embraces me.
Crooked smile.
Black teeth.
Death hovers above me.
Wicked laugh.
Dark grin.
As she spreads her wings.

Tortuous Serpent
02:22
|

My fingers trace the sand,
the same way his fingers traced my skin.
I was born a fragment,
and I have become a shadow,
remnants of being left in darkness.
As I cry out for a savior,
I am met with silence so loud,
I know only the sound of death.
I look into the eyes of men,
and they become stone before me,
for I refused to be His slave.
My bones shatter each time
I whisper into the silent fog,
"Free me."
